Travels With My Son

Living, travelling, home-making and creating, alongside and inspired by grief

Travels With My Son was started to tell my stories of loss and grief that needed to be voiced. I hoped sharing my experiences might also help others who see their own grief reflected in these words to know they aren’t alone, and don’t need to stay silent.

But I never wanted to just focus on pain and darkness, because sometimes in the ashes of loss lies hope, and in the depths of grief can come moments of joy, peace and light.

So I’m also here to share experiences, projects, activities and wider ideas that explore different ways that we can remember, honour, live, travel, home-make, create and even feel joy whilst grieving, as well as helpful resources and sources of support.

Travels With My Son is inspired by my beautiful son Stewie who was stillborn at 39 weeks on 27th July 2022, but also my father whose life ended too soon in 2017.

I find a huge amount of comfort in imagining them enjoying an eternity of adventures together.
